CBS started all the action this morning on this busy Mother’s Day before upfronts week.  It was first announced which Pilots have been picked up for the upcoming season.  Then the fates of their remaining bubble shows were decided.  There are a few surprises!

Four dramas were picked up, “Vegas Rising,” “Elementary,” “Baby Big Shot,” and “Elementary.”  Two comedies were also greenlit, “Friend Me,” and “Partners.”

Right around the same time these new shows were announced, inside reports started surfacing that “CSI: MIami” had been cancelled.  Also shocking, “CSI: NY,” which many predicted to be cancelled, was renewed.  Turns out “CSI: NY” was the only show spared so far.  ”Unforgettable,” “NYC 22,” and “Rob” all were axed as well.  Only one show on the schedule has it’s fate to be determined, “Rules of Engagement.”

CBS eventually confirmed the CSI Miami cancellation and had this to say about the departing show:

“CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers – led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of “CSI: Miami” in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.”

In his report, EW’s James Hibberd shared in honor of the show the endless Horiato Caine one liners.  The show has certainly left a legacy!  The editing on this video is just brilliant.
