Behold, for I have a tale today of what happens when fans from multiple fandoms get really bored and consort on Twitter. It’s two parts scary, and about 800 parts of howling fun.
It all started simply enough. After watching both Almost Human and Sleepy Hollow last night, I tweeted this:
I found it harder than I imagined though going from robot stories to Revolutionary War flashbacks. It felt like I was in a time machine.
— TVFor The Rest Of Us (@TVFTROU) November 19, 2013
Yes, that. Then it went this way…
@TVFTROU Solution: Revolutionary War Robots.
(@Ardeospina) November 19, 2013
Then this way…
@zakkorama @Ardeospina @Bookdal OK, a Revolutionary War show with robots, written by @rthompson1138 and directed by @guynormanbee. Network?
— TVFor The Rest Of Us (@TVFTROU) November 19, 2013
Then eventually this way…
@TVFTROU @zakkorama @Ardeospina @bookdal @rthompson1138 I’m in… When do we start casting!?
— Guy Norman Bee (@guynormanbee) November 19, 2013
So leave it up to Robbie Thompson, producer and writer extraordinare of Supernatural to taken this new challenge.
You think it ended there? Heavens no! Word got around, people loved, and well the project does need a cast…
@mimicreature @rthompson1138 @bookdal @TVFTROU @zakkorama @Ardeospina I’ve already asked Fox to amend my contract so I can be in this.
— Orlando Jones (@TheOrlandoJones) November 19, 2013
More brainstorming…
@TheOrlandoJones @mimicreature @bookdal @TVFTROU @zakkorama @Ardeospina i’m thinking @pattonoswalt for Franklin? see you on set!
— Robbie Thompson (@rthompson1138) November 19, 2013
More pitching…
@rthompson1138 @TheOrlandoJones @bookdal @TVFTROU @zakkorama @Ardeospina @pattonoswalt And @feliciaday as Betsy Ross!
— (@mimicreature) November 19, 2013
More brainstorming…
@rthompson1138 @TheOrlandoJones @mimicreature @bookdal @TVFTROU @Ardeospina @pattonoswalt Rutger Hauer as George Washington.
— Zac Walker (@zakkorama) November 19, 2013
Then, the votes of confidence came in…
@zakkorama @rthompson1138 @mimicreature @bookdal @TVFTROU @Ardeospina @pattonoswalt Oh — Hell. To. The. Yes. That alone sells it for me.
— Orlando Jones (@TheOrlandoJones) November 19, 2013
Even the top TV critics started weighing in…
Not gonna lie, “Almost Sleepynatural” would be the GREATEST SHOW IN THE WORLD. MT @rthompson1138 #crossovers pic.twitter.com/kRiI2iyfmz
— Laura Prudom (@LauInLA) November 20, 2013
You can’t kick off a project without some art work…
@rthompson1138 @bookdal @guynormanbee @zakkorama @TheOrlandoJones We need a title card for this! (gazes in @Ardeospina‘s direction).
— TVFor The Rest Of Us (@TVFTROU) November 20, 2013
And Ardeospina, master of the Winchester Family Business Motivational Posters, came through…
@rthompson1138 @bookdal @guynormanbee @TVFTROU @zakkorama @TheOrlandoJones My version of our title card. pic.twitter.com/rdnHtseIfa

Where does this legend go next? A mashup of Almost Human, Sleepy Hollow, and Supernatural? The possibilities are endless, especially when imaginations of a bunch of really bored people are fueled on Twitter.
This is just a tiny sample of the tweets we received today in response to this mushrooming fandom project. Thanks to everyone who followed our crazy fun, retweeted, sent their comments and ideas, and were around to show off what happens on a lazy Tuesday when happy fans collide. It is really quite an amazing thing when creative minds are left to run free. You all gave us at TV For The Rest of Us at least the best day ever on Twitter!
I am sure it is just me being dense but I can’t work out how to log in.
This all looks like so much fun Alice – it really is great how the various important segments of tv shows can communicate with each other and come up with fun ideas.
I haven’t heard of Almost Human before but the buzz that Sleepy Hollow has been getting is definitely piquing my interest to see what all the talk is about. And if Almost Human is close enough for a crossover I would give that a go too.
I have to say Rutger Hauer would be a major selling point of your new show for me!
Hi eilf! The login screen is on the home screen on the bottom left. However, you have to register here separately from the WFB, and I disabled registration on this site a while ago. That’s because we don’t get a lot of people logging in and the spam registrations got out of control! At one point I had 50,000 registrations and only 37 of them were from legitimate visitors. So I had to clear all those out.
If you would like an account here, just send me a message via Contact Us and I’ll manually create one. I’m finally going to upgrade this site next month (a year overdue) and TVFTROU and the WFB are moving to a new server. Hopefully then I’ll reopen registrations, or even better sync the WFB registrations with this site.
If you’re a fan of Supernatural, you’ll love Sleepy Hollow! I highly suggest going to Hulu or Fox.com and catching up.
Hey, where is the next part? There must be much more! The idea is too good to be left alone, so please, don’t drop it. I don’t think I’m the only one who’s waiting.
