Syfy has been using this weekend’s San Diego Comic Con to share some big announcements!  Here’s the official press releases about a few of your favorite shows.

SAN DIEGO, CA – July 21, 2017 – SYFY today announced the acquisition of Seasons 1 and 2 of buzzy web series CON MANfrom Redbear Films. The news was shared with excited fans during SYFY’s CON MAN: Cons and Fandom Culture panel at San Diego Comic-Con by creator, star and moderator Alan Tudyk. The short form web series, which debuted on Vimeo and Comic-Con HQ, will premiere on SYFY in September. The critically-acclaimed, geektastic series, which recently received two Emmy nominations in the short form comedy or drama category, follows the journey of Wray Nerely (Tudyk), a washed-up, former sci-fi celebrity who revisits his glory days on the convention circuit.    

Joining Tudyk on the panel for a conversation about what makes cons — and the fans who love them —so damn great were CON MAN’s memorable guest stars Tricia Helfer, Amy Acker, Nolan North, Casper Van Dien and Executive Producer PJ Haarsma. In addition to sharing trade secrets on how to make a successful web series, the panelists delighted the audience by performing the iconic hoedown musical number from the second season with all the bells and whistles – props, dancers, and even a cardboard cutout of Nathan Fillion!

SAN DIEGO, CA – July 22, 2017 – Today, for the first time, SYFY and Universal Cable Productions presented their newest drama, HAPPY!, with star Christopher Meloni (“Law & Order: SVU”), executive producers Grant Morrison and Brian Taylor, and showrunner Patrick MacManus during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The panel kicked off with the very first sneak peek of the series. Producers also announced that Patton Oswalt will voice the title role of the blue winged horse, “Happy.” Moderated by Tim Leong (Entertainment Weekly), panelists delved into the stylized visuals of the show, how the adaptation came to life, and why the show depicts “The Worst Christmas Ever.”

Adapted from the graphic novel of the same name, HAPPY! follows Nick Sax (Meloni) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man whose life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named “Happy.” HAPPY! premieres this fall on SYFY.

SAN DIEGO, CA – July 22, 2017 – SYFY and Universal Cable Productions’ breakout series THE MAGICIANS brought the stars and executive producers together today at San Diego Comic-Con to discuss its powerful Season 2 finale. Moderator Chris Hardwick was joined on stage by series regulars Jason Ralph (Quentin Coldwater), Stella Maeve (Julia Wicker), Olivia Taylor Dudley (Alice Quinn), Hale Appleman (Eliot Waugh), Summer Bishil (Margo Hanson) and Arjun Gupta (Penny Adiyodi) alongside executive producers and co-creators Sera Gamble and John McNamara.  After a lively conversation about musicals, bank robberies and that crazy finale, the audience got a sneak peek into Season 3 and its highly anticipated new set – the Muntjac boat. THE MAGICIANS is set to return to SYFY in 2018.

SAN DIEGO, CA – July 22, 2017 – Today, SYFY and IDW Entertainment announced the renewal of the breakout supernatural series WYNONNA EARP for third season, expected to premiere in 2018. The announcement was made during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, which was attended by cast members Melanie Scrofano, Shamier Anderson, Tim Rozon, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, Katherine Barrell, Varun Saranga, Tamara Duarte, along with showrunner and creator Emily Andras and comic book creator Beau Smith. Moderated by UPROXX’s Donna Dickens, the cast revealed behind-the-scenes antics and more details about the biggest hidden secret of the season – writing in Melanie Scrofano’s real-life pregnancy, which made Wynonna Earp the first pregnant superhero. Die-hard Earpers got to see an exclusive trailer for the remainder of the season, and were surprised by the Season 3 renewal announcement made on stage by IDW Entertainment President, David Ozer.

Produced in Calgary by SEVEN24 Films and globally distributed by IDW Entertainment, WYNONNA EARP follows legendary lawman Wyatt Earp’s descendant, Wynonna (Scrofano) who inherits his mystical gun, Peacemaker. With it, Wynonna and her posse of dysfunctional allies must fight against supernatural beings and other paranormal occurrences in a raucous, whisky-soaked struggle to break her family’s demonic curse. Andras (LOST GIRL,KILLJOYS) developed the wildly imaginative series for television and serves as Executive Producer and Showrunner. SEVEN24’s Jordy Randall and Tom Cox serve as Executive Producers along with IDW CEO & Publisher Ted Adams and Ozer, as well as Todd Berger and Rick Jacobs.

WYNONNA EARP is currently airing Fridays at 10/9c on SYFY.

SAN DIEGO, CA – July 21, 2017 – Psych-O’s called. USA Network answered! PSYCH stars James Roday, Dulé Hill, Maggie Lawson, Kirsten Nelson and Corbin Bernson reunited at Comic-Con, along with creator Steve Franks and executive producers Chris Henze and Kelly Kulchak, for a panel and Q&A discussion. In a surprise twist of fate, moderator Jimmi Simpson (“Westworld”) announced that his PSYCH character, Mary Lightly, will make a special appearance in the movie. Is he alive or is he dead? We’ve heard it both ways! Fans also got an exclusive first look at the all-new PSYCH: THE MOVIE, enjoyed a pineapple sing-a-long, and joined America’s favorite brofriends Shawn and Gus as they shared their journey back into PSYCHshape.
