We all knew there was a lot of buzz about The Flash, but last night’s opener delivered beyond some wildest dreams, especially in this era of lower live ratings.  The Flash debuted to a 1.8 in 18-49, 4.54 million viewers overall, and cementing a rarity for The CW for the night, a third place finish in demo ratings, fourth place in overall viewers.

The Flash even did better than the other comic book show of the night, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  That show, which aired an hour later, only got 1.6 in the 18-49 demo and 4.39 million viewers.

Supernatural also did well in it’s season 10 premiere, which helped secure the CW’s overall evening ranking.  It scored a 1.2 in 18-49 and 2.79 million viewers overall.  That’s on par with last season in demo, and a little higher with viewers.

Below is the press release from The CW.  Sounds like another successful franchise is born!
